It IS a nicer phone than the Samsung 301g, which was driving me crazy. But I upgraded to an LG290c, trying to transfer my phone number, 6 months of service and around two hours of talk time from the Samsung. It was complex, but I did it solely online. Of course there's a problem: The phone number transferred, the service time transferred, the minutes NOT!!!
Trying to get Tracfone to respond to my emails sent from their website about this problem. So far, no good after two days. I'm concerned that since some don't speak English very well, asking them to read it is unreasonable. But I do hate, hate, (did I say HATE?) to call them. It's like torture, hearing them say "I'm sorry" twenty times in one phone call, and yet still -- they do have SO much to be sorry for, most of the time. Their service stinks, their online info is sparse and sometimes inaccurate.
No, they will NOT contact you when your port is finished. It's all up to you to figure out what to do next!
If you find an LG290c, I can't recommend trying to activate it as an upgrade. Otherwise, it is a major improvement over the Samsung slider.

I like this phone and its real good for the money. I got it with tracfone cuz I wanted a cheap slider phone. IT has a camera and is very small when fully condensed. This phone is cheap, gets good reception and it has a lota features! Get it now.
This was a brilliant phone to buy my daughter. It wasn't expensive, and the tracfone dmfl + coverage made the company an easy choice. The major concern to my daughter was the look of the thing, as well as it being a slider phone. In both regards I surprised her by my choice. The fact that it had a camera, browser, and has blue tooth capabilities were extras that she wasn't expecting me to include in buying her a new phone - but alas, it was affordable. Apparently these extras aren't the greatest in any one of their respective catagories, but they all do the job. There was however some dissapointment regarding the inability to play mp3's. Life is hard. But I scored dome serious browny points with her when I brought this home.
